Our Story
Metreson Upholstery has been in business for more than a decade, and currently employs a team with more than 20 years’ experience. We are family owned and operated in Unanderra, led by Head Upholsterer Ryan Metreson.
Ryan began his career as an upholsterer focusing on furniture in 1998. The very beginning of his long and successful career took shape in Caringbah, in Sydney's South. It was there he undertook a four-year apprenticeship, which included three years at Lidcombe TAFE. Ryan completed his apprenticeship at the end of 2001 and continued to work full-time in Sydney until the beginning of 2008.
In 2007, Ryan founded Metreson Upholstery. The operation was only available to homes and businesses on a part-time basis. Recognising that there was a real need for fine, top-quality reupholstering in the region, Ryan made the decision to focus solely on Metreson Upholstery within a year.
Metreson Upholstery previously subcontracted work from other upholsterers from Sydney, Wollongong and the Southern Highlands to supplement a still-growing client base. It was truly an honour to have the trust of some of the area’s most established names in upholstery. However, the demand for Metreson Upholstery steadily rose and opted to cease subcontracting.
In fact, the positive response to the work was such that additional staff were required. Today, Metreson Upholstery has grown to consist of a team of four upholstery experts. continuing to deliver a high-quality service across the Illawarra region, giving our customer's existing furniture a new lease on life.
Metreson Upholstery specialises in the upholstering and reupholstering of lounges, dining chairs, sofas, outdoor furniture and more.
